Katapult were appointed by the University of Derby Corporate (UDC), a new operating division of the University of Development specialising in skills development, to develop and test alternative brand names for the business.
Initially, Katapult worked closely with the UDC team to produce a framework that clearly set out its positioning and service propositions. This provided a platform for development of a creative brief which in turn drove the development of a shortlist of alternative business names for testing. Katapult arranged and undertook face-to-face interviews with purchasers of training & development services across organisations including Rolls Royce, Toyota, Pendragon and Egg. Based on the respondents’ responses to the proposition and brand names, Katapult produced a report setting out clear recommendations which were presented to the UDC Board.
Katapult were also appointed to develop a sales presenter for UDC, for use by its business development team, at exhibitions and at the launch of UDC. Katapult developed a storyboard that accommodated sequences focusing on key aspects of the UDC proposition as well as testimonials with key clients. The presenter was built in Flash, employing motion graphics to bring the UDC proposition to life in an engaging and inventive manner. Katapult also filmed and edited interviews with key clients and integrated the video content into the presenter.
