Katapult was appointed as The Princes Trust's regional agency last year following a tender process and the completion of a successful campaign.
Our latest project was for The Trust's Creative Industries Project. The Project celebrated its third year of success and partnership with Arts Council England and the East Midlands Development Agency in June with an event at the Leicester Business Depot. The partnership between the three organisations was set up to deliver specialist business support to creative entrepreneurs across the East Midlands, and has been instrumental in the establishment and sustainability of 112 businesses through training, networking and exhibition opportunities.
For the Leicester event, held on the 16th June, Katapult designed a twenty-four page report based on the results of research commissioned by The Trust into its impact on the creative industries in the region, produced all the display graphics for the event and provided consultancy and support for the planning in the weeks leading up to June 16th.
Katapult's Video Production Unit also produced an eight minute film featuring case studies of eight of the supported businesses which were shot at various locations around the region over a two month period. The film was shown at the event and will be used by the project manager to help recruit new entrepreneurs to the project.
The event itself featured performances from Trust supported musicians, displays of work and a mixed media exhibition. Many of the businesses supported by the project were present, including Josephine la Vey, a corsetry designer from Leicester who compered the event. Other speakers included Mir Juma, The Trust's regional director, and Jim Shorthose, who conducted the research.
