Ginger King Campers is a business venture founded by Katapult MD Dawn which provides campervan hire for fabulous hassle free adventures across the UK and Europe.
Martin Enright, Senior Designer at Katapult, worked with Dawn to create a brand for the campervan hire business and its marketing materials. The company name was inspired by Dawn's dog Brad, who is the 'Ginger King'. The inspiration behind the name and logo was to reflect the fact that the company is dog friendly, allowing people to take their beloved pets away with them rather than leaving them at home.
Dawn was also inspired after enjoying exploring New Zealand and Australia by campervan. As UK is much like New Zealand – similar in climate, easy to get around and see a lot in a short space of time - she began wondering why she hasn't explored what's on her doorstep in the same way. Combine this idea with Derby's central location and the rise in 'staycations' - Ginger King Campers was born.
The website design shows The Ginger King's sense of adventure, with images of the campervan in various locations. The site is built on the CMS platform Wordpress, integrated with an online booking/availability system, optimised for SEO and linked with social media platforms.
