The Floratorio project saw 185 primary school children from six schools across Derby and Derbyshire perform alongside sinfonia ViVA and conductor David Lawrence. The premiere performance of Floratorio, a new oratorio written by composer and workshop leader James Redwood and librettist Peter Roberts, tells the story of Florence Nightingale and forms part of Illuminate 2010 a festival celebrating the life of Florence in the year of the 100th anniversary of her death.
K-motion documented the whole project, from the initial sessions at Derby Community Hospital, workshops at the schools and the end performance at Derby's Assembly Rooms along with a DVD containg a 30 minute documentary, video edit of the final performance and bonus performances at Derby Hospital.
